Psychiatric Med Minute – Clonazepam (Klonopin)

Happy New Year! This month in our Psychiatric Med Minute series, we talk about Clonazepam. If you or someone you know take this medication, watch this video to learn about its uses and possible side-effects, including those that could be viewed as “behavioral”. Behavioral side effects are often the rationale for doctors to increase dosages or add more medications rather than stopping the medication that may be causing them. This is important for people with intellectual disabilities who may not be able to communicate how they feel and are dependent on caregivers and family members to recognize and report possible side effects.

Did you know Psychiatric Med Minute videos are also available on our app, The DSP Handbook, for easy access and viewing?

The DSP Handbook also has lots of other useful tools and resources to help you support people who have IDD and autism. Available for iPhone or Android. 100% FREE to download and use!
